After completing my post-graduation in English, I spent nearly eight years in the teaching profession. Like many women in our society, I eventually stepped away from my career to focus on my family. However, the desire to become self-dependent and pursue my own dreams never faded.

From a very young age, I was deeply connected to classical dance, especially Bharatanatyam. This inspired my initial idea of establishing a cultural academy. At the same time, I pursued studies in fashion and design, which opened up another creative avenue for me. Over time, I realized that my true passion lay in blending these two worlds—culture and creativity.

This vision led to the birth of Besh-Shishta Chayan.

“Shishta Chayan” represents the foundation of the brand—it means a gentle, refined, and thoughtful selection inspired by culture and aesthetics. “Besh,” on the other hand, reflects outfit and appearance—our expression through fashion. Together, the brand embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modern style, rooted in Bengali heritage.

We began our journey with sarees, gradually expanding into salwar suits and one-piece outfits. As part of our commitment to authenticity and artistry, we introduced hand-painted and handcrafted stitch work into our collections.

Today, our signature creations include hand-painted kolka paar sarees and uniquely designed salwar suits, which have become customer favorites.
